(outside Tomoeda Elementary)

Tomoyo stands right at the gates in front of Tomoeda Elementary, barely shielded from the pounding rain by her measly umbrella.  She shivers violently as she peeks around the corners, waiting rather impatiently.  Tiptoeing frantically to keep herself warm, she rolls up her sleeve and checks the time on her wristwatch.

"It's been fifteen minutes…" she thinks to herself.  "Sakura-chan, Li-kun, please hang on," she pleads.

Out the corner of her eyes, she sees a pair of headlights downrange, shining through the thick fog.  Sh

The cold wind rushes through the dank, almost derelict-looking underground subway station, causing Syaoran to shiver stiffly, as he sits alone on a bench, sitting below a route map hanging above him on the wall.  His jean jacket provides him with a little warmth, but not much.

Syaoran looks around the vacant station, ensuring that no one was around.  Finding not another soul in the vicinity, he pulls a stack of Clow Cards out from a pocket in his jean jacket.  Fanning them out, the eye of his magic allows him to spot a shady, dark aura covering the cards.  Fade had been

Cardcaptor Torika was created by Clowprincess223 (or Nasdreks, as she is apparently more commonly known around here) and I did a fanart of her star character in the illustration style of a giant fanfic that I've been doing, entitled Science and Sorcery. (No, I will never release the entirety of the now-25-season series. But I have been known to dish out snippets.)

Anyway, this wand that Torika uses is called the Terrawand. It sets itself apart from all other Clow-based wands before it because it allows Torika to call on the magical energies of nature itself, boosting the already formidable powers of her Heart Cards, or Terra Cards as they all eventually become. The defect of the Heart Cards was that they weren't capable of fully utilizing all of Torika's magical strength as they were, and thus needed to be "upgraded" in order to give Torika a standing chance of fending off the considerably-higher caliber of opponents that she faces in Science and Sorcery.

For an example of an upgrade from Heart Card to Terra Card, the Terra Card version of Fly gives Torika huge wings on her back, more like Yue's scale than Sakura's, and Torika's wings are also faster and tougher as Terra Cards. For another example, the Terra Card incarnation of the Sword Card turns Sword into a mighty two-handed scimitar, unlike the skinny little fireplace poker it looks like normally.

Spiffy-looking wand, that. Good details. It makes me curious about the story she belongs to.
